Four drivers were in action at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome on Tuesday, as testing resumed ahead of the forthcoming San Marino Grand Prix. Anthony Davidson topped the times for Honda, finishing two tenths clear of Ferrari counterpart Marc Gene.

Gene, meanwhile, was at the wheel of an F2004 fitted with a regulated power version of last year’s V10 engine. The Spaniard completed 113 laps as he began a Bridgestone tyre development programme.

　　Unlike the teams’ last visit to Vallelunga a couple of weeks back, conditions were fine and dry, with ambient temperatures of over 25 degrees Celsius. Honda and Ferrari continue testing at the circuit on Wednesday, with Michael Schumacher taking over from Gene. They will be joined by Williams, who begin a two-day programme with Alexander Wurz in the cockpit of the FW28.
