Next weekend he will be racing around the streets of Monaco. This Sunday Renault’s Fernando Alonso will be doing the same in the Spanish city of Seville. He may not have quite so many rivals as in Monte Carlo, but the free public event is sure to attract huge crowds.

　　Alonso will be at the wheel of his 2005 championship-winning R25 for a demonstration run, as part of the latest Renault F1 Roadshow, which has been organised in conjunction with the Council of Andalucia to mark the 40th anniversary of Renault’s transmission plant in Seville. It will also be another chance for Alonso to celebrate his recent home win in the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Roadshow is a great programme because we can get close to the fans and really share their emotion. I am looking forward to seeing my people on Sunday, and to saying thank you to them for their amazing support."

　　Alonso’s Seville run will take place on a specially-constructed course 2.5 kilometre course, running from the Glorieta de San Diego to the Glorieta de Mejico, and back again. It will form the highlight of a whole day of celebration, that will include demonstrations from Renault's current motorsport categories, and famous cars from the company's past, including their first ever Formula One car, the RS01 from 1977, and the Le Mans winning Renault A 442B.

　　Previous roadshows have seen Renault's car running in Moscow's Red Square, at the Circus Maximus in Rome and on the banks of the Bosphorus in Turkey.
